In this guide (8 sections)
The 2026 Nissan Patrol uses three tyre sizes, depending on the grade. The 18-inch grades take 265/70 R18, the 20-inch grades take 275/60 R20, and the LE Platinum City and NISMO take 275/50 R22. These sizes come from Nissan Abu Dhabi's specification page, an authorised dealer source, checked on 23 October 2026.
Your own car's door placard or owner's manual is the final word. Dealer pages can change, and a used Patrol may have had its wheels swapped.

Nissan Patrol 2026 tyre size by grade
The table lists every grade shown on Nissan Abu Dhabi's Patrol specification page. The page does not print a model year in its text, but its image files are labelled "my26" and the footer reads 2026, so we treat it as the 2026 model.

A few points from the same page:
- Every grade is listed with four-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic.
- The NISMO equipment list mentions "high grip" tyres but does not name a brand or model.
- The NISMO wheel width is given as 22 x 8J in one section, while another section describes forged 22-inch wheels without a width. We have shown it without the width.
- No load index, speed rating or spare tyre size is listed for any grade.

What the three Patrol tyre sizes mean
A size such as 265/70 R18 has three parts. 265 is the tyre's width in millimetres. 70 is the sidewall height as a percentage of that width. R18 means a radial tyre for an 18-inch wheel.
Here is a worked example using the three stock Patrol sizes. The sidewall height is width × aspect ratio. The overall diameter is the wheel diameter (inches × 25.4) plus two sidewalls.
| Size | Sidewall height | Wheel diameter | Approx. overall diameter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 265/70 R18 | 185.5 mm | 457.2 mm | 828 mm |
| 275/60 R20 | 165.0 mm | 508.0 mm | 838 mm |
| 275/50 R22 | 137.5 mm | 558.8 mm | 834 mm |
The three sizes come out within about 10 mm of each other in overall diameter. Bigger wheels get thinner sidewalls, so the rolling size stays close. That is why Nissan can fit all three to one body. It does not mean any of them will fit any Patrol: brake size, wheel offset and the tyre's load and speed ratings also matter.
Can I fit a different tyre size to my Patrol?
People often ask about moving from 22s or 20s down to 18s for sand driving, or fitting taller all-terrain tyres. Some general points from UAE sources:
- RoadSafetyUAE's checklist, reported by Gulf News in October 2020, says to fit the correct tyre type and size and to check the owner's manual if unsure. It also says to stay within the tyres' load and speed ratings.
- Sharjah Police, reported by Khaleej Times in May 2025, listed overloading beyond a tyre's capacity and speeding beyond its design rating among the main causes of blowouts.
- Dubai's RTA said in October 2020 that mountain and snow tyres are not fit for public roads.
We have not found a published RTA rule on how far a Patrol can be upsized. If you plan to change size, speak to a Nissan dealer or a qualified fitter, and ask your insurer whether a non-standard size affects your cover.
Load index and speed rating on a Patrol
The Nissan Abu Dhabi spec page does not list a load index or speed rating. You can read both from the tyres currently on the car: they follow the size, for example "114H". The number is the load index, and the letter is the speed rating.
When you replace tyres, match or exceed the original load index and speed rating. Your manual or the door placard may also state them. This follows RoadSafetyUAE's advice to stay within the tyres' load and speed ratings.
Should all four Patrol tyres be replaced together?
RoadSafetyUAE's advice is to replace all four tyres at once, especially on permanent four-wheel-drive vehicles. Every 2026 Patrol grade is listed as 4WD.
The same checklist suggests rotating front and rear tyres about every 10,000 km, or as the manufacturer advises, and checking balance and alignment at the same time.
Patrol tyre pressure
The spec page does not give pressures. Use the figure on the label near the driver's door latch or in your manual, not the maximum printed on the tyre. A Michelin GCC representative quoted by Khaleej Times in 2018 said to check pressure when the tyres are cold (not driven for two hours, or for under 3 km), and to add 0.3 bar if you must check them warm. Our guide to tyre pressure in UAE heat covers this in more detail.
Patrol tyre prices
We have not yet captured dated retailer prices for 265/70 R18, 275/60 R20 or 275/50 R22. For an idea of how prices vary by brand tier and production year in a comparable SUV size, see our October 2026 tyre price snapshot, which includes 265/65 R18.
Before you buy, also check each tyre's date code. A tyre that has sat in stock is closer to the UAE's five-year limit. Our guide on how to read a tyre date code shows how.
What to check before you act
- Read the size on your door placard or in your manual, not just this table.
- Note the load index and speed rating on your current tyres and match or exceed them.
- Plan to replace all four tyres together on a 4WD Patrol.
- Speak to a Nissan dealer or qualified fitter before changing wheel or tyre size.
- Check the date code on every new tyre before it goes on the car.

What the markings on a tyre mean
An example sidewall, drawn for this site. Tap a number to jump to its meaning. Your tyre's markings will differ; the layout is similar on most car tyres.
1 Size
275/60 R20275 is the width in millimetres. 60 is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width (here 165 mm). R means radial. 20 is the wheel diameter in inches. It must match the size on the label in your driver's door frame or your manual.
2 Load index and speed rating
116H116 is a load index: up to 1,250 kg per tyre. H is a speed rating: up to 210 km/h. When you replace tyres, match or exceed the originals. RoadSafetyUAE advises staying within a tyre's load and speed ratings.
3 DOT code (tyre identification number)
"DOT" is followed by a plant code and a manufacturer's code, then the date code. The full code is sometimes moulded on one side only, so check the inner sidewall if you can't find it.
4 Date code
3222The last four digits, usually in an oval: week, then year. 3222 means week 32 of 2022. In the UAE the five-year line runs from this date. Work out your tyre's age.
5 Maximum pressure
The most the tyre can safely hold, not the pressure to run it at. Use the figure on your door label, checked when the tyres are cold. See tyre pressure in UAE heat.
6 Tread wear indicator (TWI)
A small triangle or "TWI" on the shoulder marks where the wear bars sit in the grooves. When the tread is level with the bars, it is down to 1.6 mm, the legal minimum for cars in the UAE. See the five-minute tyre check.
Questions people ask
What size tyres does a 2026 Nissan Patrol take?
It depends on the grade. Nissan Abu Dhabi lists 265/70 R18 for the 18-inch grades, 275/60 R20 for the 20-inch grades and 275/50 R22 for LE Platinum City and NISMO.
What tyre size is on the Patrol PRO-4X?
Nissan Abu Dhabi lists 275/60 R20 all-terrain tyres on 20-inch machine-cut alloys for the PRO-4X. It is the only grade on that page shown with all-terrain tyres.
Can I fit 18-inch wheels and tyres to a Patrol that came on 20s?
The overall diameters of the three stock sizes are close, but brake clearance, load index and speed rating also matter. Ask your Nissan dealer or a qualified fitter before changing wheel size.
Where do I find the correct tyre pressure for my Patrol?
On the label near the driver's door latch or in the owner's manual. Use that figure, not the maximum pressure moulded on the tyre sidewall, and check when the tyres are cold.
Do I need to replace all four tyres on a Patrol at once?
RoadSafetyUAE advises replacing all four together, especially on permanent four-wheel-drive vehicles. The 2026 Patrol is listed as 4WD on every grade.
